Just another catch up post!

I intended on posting pictures of our yard right after I did that last post about our water troubles, but I find myself not getting around to a lot of things I intend on doing! That week was crazy!  Our yard is hideous, but we have water and I suppose that's all that matters right now!  We'll clean it up soon!  (Right Jeff?)  If you're wondering about the hose in the bathtub photo, when I went to take a shower the morning we were borrowing water from our neighbor, Jeff said "Hey, I need you to take a shower with the hose to thaw it out quick."  Um, yah.  Apparently it had frozen over night so I had to stand in the tub with that HUGE DIRTY hose while I showered.  But you know, by that point I was just excited to have running water, so I did it!  The kids have loved all of the heavy machinery that we've had around our place.  I wish I looked out the window and felt the same excitement they do.  I tend to focus on how ugly the ground looks and how sad I am that we just replaced this lawn last June!

A few weeks ago I joined Chad for his first Kindergarten field trip.  We went to the Clark Planetarium.  This was his first school bus ride, and he loved it!  We had a great time with the one other boy in our group, Quentin.  That kid cracked me up.  I love when kids laugh!  We watched a movie about a cardboard rocket, ate lunch with friends, walked on the moon, watched a 3D movie about bugs, and explored all of the cool science things in the gift shop.  They loved the bus ride just as much as anything else!

Last week I had my friend Nikki give Alison her second hair cut.  Her hair was WILD!  It was super curly in the back, straight in the front and most of it grew straight forward so she couldn't ever see unless it was pulled up.  I thought I would have her cut off the curl and give her a little A-line, but Nikki suggested that we keep the curl and give her layers and bangs to help accentuate the curl.  These pictures don't do it justice, but she has got some major curls now!  So cute!
And finally, a few pictures from various Valentine's Day celebrations!  I attempted to make heart shaped donuts this year, but I don't have the right equipment!  It was a mess!  I  probably ate a dozen donuts just testing them to see if they were done.  Not knowing whether the oil was hot enough or too hot just made things difficult.  I messed up the glaze as well because I was just exhausted.  I ended up turning half of the dough into cinnamon rolls!  They were GREAT!  I also did sugar cookies with Kyle and Austin during preschool which we shared with Luc and Izzy when they came over that afternoon.  I sure get on a sugar kick during holidays!  Good thing I don't count calories and I run a lot! On Sunday we had our friends the Straw's over for Valentine's dinner and games.  More treats that night of course!  I love good food, but I love my family and friends even more!
