Kyle's 3rd Birthday!

Kyle turned 3 on Friday! When I would ask him what he would like for his birthday or for his birthday cake he would only say "Transformers." So, he's never seen "Transformers", at least not that I know of, but Chad and his friends think they're cool, and Kyle wants to do what they're doing, so we went with it! I wasn't very ambitious this year, so I just stood his Transformers next to his cake that he wanted to be a square. I gave him his breakfast on a Transformer plate and hung a "Happy Birthday" sign with Transformers on it. I'm a good Mom, right? No, actually I felt pretty lazy, but I think he enjoyed his day. We met Jeff at the aquarium, and enjoyed all of the fish. Kyle loves the sting rays! From an IKEA mailing we found out that Kyle shares his birthday with our IKEA store, so he received a $10 gift card and he got to pick out a toy. Jeff coaxed him into a swing for our front tree, which turned out to be a total blast for the boys! For dinner we had some of Kyle's favorite things: hot dogs, corn on the cob, chips, and pineapple! Chad gave him a sleeping bag, and they both got to sleep in the tent we set up in the play room. Jeff would've camped in the back yard with them, but it was raining off and on all day! They loved "camping" together in the play room! We even had their noise maker turned on to the cricket sounds! I sure do love Kyle! I've struggled a bit lately with some of his misbehaviors, but Jeff reminds me that he's just "2!" Well now he's just "3", and I look forward to another great year! He truly brings so much joy to my life. He is always so silly and gives the best kisses! I can't imagine life without him!

Yes, you are a fabulous Mom. It looks like you all had a fun day. Love the ikea swing. Was it 10 bucks or did you pay extra? Happy Birthday to Kyle, we love you. Oh yea, I thought the square K was his napkins and I was commenting how cute they were, and my kids behind me said, "Mom, that's the cake". Cute cake!

Okay, I confess, a few weeks ago when the boys were over I came downstairs and they had put in the Transformers movie-- it had just barely started, though (I don't own it, my brother does--but Davis snuck into his room and got it). I turned it off quickly and told them it was rated PG-13 so they had to wait until they were 13 to watch it. I also think Kyle might have been over sometime when Davis had a Transformers cartoon from the Library.

So blame the stinkin' Millars for the Transformer fetish-- we are such a bad influence. Sever all ties now before it is too late, , , , . next thing you know they might be eating each other's burps.
